Sports goods industry is one of the major exports of Pakistan which is said to be an important foreign exchange earner.

Today more than 2000 units are in operation producing a wide variety of quality products.
Pakistan's sports goods have earned a world-wide recognition due to unique designing of creative and skilled craftsmen accompanied by good workmanship.
Data revealed that more than 70 per cent of the total sport items are exported every year to countries like Germany, USA, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Hong Kong, Denmark, Canada, Belgium, Dubai and Chile. Our sport goods industry is facing competition in international market. Our main competitors are India, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea. These countries are giving us tough time in the international market as they have cheap labor and semi-automotive units which can produce cheap goods.

Our footballs are famous world-wide because we have improved quality leather for the manufacture of footballs. In year 2011-12 positive growth was seen in exports of sports good from the country. This industry has flourished with time as government supports the manufacturers by providing loans and backing in its development. Also the raw materials required for the production of sport items are easily available in Pakistan. Modern techniques and machines are installed for shaving and cutting of leather. Also, football specifying machines are provided by Sports Goods Service Centre to enhance the quality and standard of footballs. Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers & Exporters Association was established in order to facilitate the exporters. Undoubtedly this industry has helped improve the economic condition of Pakistan.

did najam sethis chiriya predicted about his chief ministership 11 Did Najam Sethis Chiriya Predicted about his Chief Ministership?

Najam Sethi has become the 16th (caretaker) chief minister of Punjab. Pakistani people used to see him on GEO TV in the program "Aapas ki Baat, Najam Sethi kay Saath", and that program had earned a good viewership in the past one year and that was mainly due to his artistic style of commenting on the current political affairs. He used to have a term "Chiriya" which means sparrow, which used to bring secret news for him which he produced in his program. People still don't know what he means to say by "Chiriya" and what is the source of his news and predictions about the current affairs. Surprisingly most of his predictions prove to be true. Many of his rival anchors blamed him as an American or Indian agent and also labeled him as ultra liberal persons not believing in the religious norms but Najam Sethi has refuted all this allegations in one of his current programs and he revealed that he has also filed a court case against an anchor namely Mubasshar Luqman for damages. He has won many awards in the field of journalism as journalist, editor and an anchor. He is also the editor-in-chief of The Friday Times which is a political weekly, and before this he was the editor of Daily Times and Daily Aajkal newspapers. He also owns Vanguard Books, which is a publishing house and chain of bookstores.

In the year 1999, he was arrested by ISI following an interview with the BBC on government corruption, and was detained for almost a month without any charges. In 2008 and 2009, he had to face death threats from Islamist groups for the anti-fundamentalistic ideas published in his papers.

Sethi has won the 1999 International Press Freedom Award presented by US-based Committee for protection of Journalists and the 2009 World Association of Newspapers' Golden Pen of Freedom Award.
Now he has been selected with consent of political parties for the slot of Chief Minister of Punjab (Caretaker) On March 26, 2013. Now he has the responsibility of conducting a fair elections in Punjab because he has already been blamed to be Pro-Nawaz League and Anti-PTI but he claims that he will do whatever possible to conduct free and fair elections and will obey every order of the Election Commission and Supreme Court and if he could not do so, he would relinquish the seat of CM.

elections or no elections the last moment rumors in pakistan 1 Elections or No Elections The Last Moment Rumors in Pakistan

There are rumors going on and on the matter that whether the general elections will take place or not. There is a rumor mill working day and night to spread the issue. There are many politicians and analysts that are giving their opinion about the likelihood of elections being postponed or cancelled. In Pakistan there has always been a hidden or invisible hand working behind the scenes and this time also people are suspecting that the same invisible hand will play its role in postponement or cancellation of the elections. There is a spree of terrorism events and besides the events relating to intolerance towards the minorities and people relating to sects or communities in minorities, the latest example is of Joseph Colony episode and Abbas Town incident.
There is a strong concern that the violence and terrorism triggered by the militant groups can play its role in affecting the polls to an extent that they may not be held on the given dates. in fact this apprehension has no solid reason, In the past the elections had been held in Swat in the peak time of Swat Talibans and no major unpleasant incident took place.

Not Army, not even president and not even Supreme Court will behave in such a way that could hinder the peaceful enactment of the elections. Every stake holder is keen to transfer the power to next winner of elections. Army will play its positive role in successful holding of elections and especially in the sensitive areas the army will be deployed and moreover the Elections Commission is going to be more vigorous day by day and issuing the conditions to fulfill for participating in the elections. President Zardari has already dismissed the idea of calling combined session of parliament to postpone the elections. We should wish for the successful and peaceful holding of elections and this time people should use their votes for a new and Changed Pakistan and should not test the persons which have already been tested more than one time. I wish Pakistan a prosperous future in the comity of nations.

deadly risks run by pakistan cough syrup addicts 1 DEADLY RISKS RUN BY PAKISTAN COUGH SYRUP ADDICTS!!

Cough syrups are long been known to cause addiction. Synthetic morphine derivative used in cough syrup, if consumed in large quantities have mind-altering effects and can cause addiction. Due to this reason cough syrups are placed under Controlled Drugs section in Pharmacies and cannot be sold without prescription but this is practiced only in bigger pharmacies of Pakistan. In recent few months cough syrup is suspected of causing multiple deaths in different cities of Punjab.
Twenty-three people died and more than fifty were hospitalized in Punjab in November 2012 after drinking cough syrup. Tests revealed that the victims’ stomachs contained excessive dose of active ingredient 'dextro meth orphan'. Investigations were done to check whether the people affected by the syrup drank too much of it, or whether the medicine was expired or wrongly manufactured. Detailed analysis showed that majority of victims had a history of drug addiction and none of the syrups seized were expired. All the stock of the factory was sealed by the government and men responsible were arrested. There are a lot of controversies seen in this issue. According to health department officials a poisonous ingredient imported from India is probably responsible for contamination of these syrups.
Investigations also revealed the fact that in our country some people intend to manufacture cough syrups to sell specifically to drug addicts.
Relevant government departments are not doing their job properly. Every now and then we come across the statements coming from official quarters that promising actions would be taken against ones who are responsible but implementation on these statements is rarely seen. Frustrated people are seeking for escape from their crisis and get attracted towards synthetic drugs which according to them provide mental peace. But they are unaware of the fact that taking such drugs can be lethal.
In our country regular drugs are expensive and difficult to get, so majority of people belonging to poor families have been using cough syrup as a recreational drug. Life is cheapin our country. There is no law or restriction for anybody, one can buy anything easily whether they are sedatives or non-conventional drugs like cough syrups or pain killers which can be fatal for their precious lives.

textile products the large contributers to export industry 1 TEXTILE PRODUCTS THE LARGE CONTRIBUTERS TO EXPORT INDUSTRY

The core objective of any country is that its exports should be more than its imports; earning a lot of profit for the country.
Pakistan is a developing country famous in the world for its agricultural products. We have not only excelled in agriculture but also our textile products have earned popularity in international markets. Undoubtedly Pakistan has a reasonably strong industry base and is famous worldwide for its textile products. Survey reveals that textile products of our country account for more than 50% of our total exports. More than 500 textile industries are responsible for manufacturing high quality products that not only meets the local requirements but also covers international markets. Different textile products such as cotton cloths, fabrics, textile apparel are exported from Pakistan to many countries like USA, Japan, China, Afghanistan, Italy and India. Also, our textile items coupled with leather products are famous in the markets of United Arab Emirates. Our export quality textile products have established good reputation in the world's market and cotton cloths have earned very good name for the country.
But from last few years our international trade is badly suffering because of the critical situation of energy crisis. Political instability, terrorism and energy crisis are responsible for trade deficit. In the current situation the textile sector that used to generate valuable foreign exchange, is affected badly. As a result the economic condition of our country is not at all satisfactory. We do not have abilities to expand our exports as we lack in disciplined functioning export system and also our international marketing system is not impressive or convincing.
Exports of any country carry significant importance for its growth and prosperity. Though people of Pakistan are hardworking and creative individuals who want to give their homeland the place it deserves in the world but it is a need of hour to bring revolution in our country to make it politically and economically stable.

General Musharraf and Shoe Throwing on Face, History never forgives

general musharraf and shoe throwing on face history never forgives 1 General Musharraf and Shoe Throwing on Face, History never forgives

There was a time when General Musharraf used to rule the country of Pakistan with full pomp and grandeur, thanks to his position as the Army Chief of Pakistan. He captured the throne of Nawaz Sharif and ousted him from the seat and also expelled him out of the country under a deal. In the past it has happened many times in the history of Pakistan that the treading sound of the heavy army boots dominate the atmosphere of a Civilian rule and then the speech continues with the words “My dear countrymen” “ Meray Aziz Hamwatno” .
The army chief who used to receive so much honor and protocol in his time of rule was thrown a shoe on his face when he reached to attend a local court, what more insult can be inflicted on a person who was once a all in all of this country and he when reached Islamabad, he was received only by not more than 100 or 150 persons and those also including the persons who were already there to receive their dear ones. God knows better why he has come to Pakistan because he has only a handful of supporters in the country and nothing else. He has the black spots on his personality of the attack on Lal Masjid and murder of orphan girls studying in the Maddrassah. The murder of Nawab Akbar Bugti, Kargil Mission and many other incidents of corruption and tyranny.

In my opinion the nature makes the circumstances in such a way that every step foolish or wise is taken by a person and he meets his destiny, either good or bad. General Musharraf will reap what he has sown with his own hands. If you sow the seeds of Cactus then you can’t expect to harvest the crop of mangoes. It’s the divine rule.

WHY KALABAGH DAM IS OPPOSED AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT?

why kalabagh dam is opposed and why it is important 1 WHY KALABAGH DAM IS OPPOSED AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT?

Kalabagh Dam has since long been planned and proposed to be built on River Indus at the site of Kalabagh in Mianwali region of Punjab. But unfortunately it has been a controversial issue and much argued upon and debated issue since its inception. If it is constructed and produces 3800 MW as it has been conceived, it will be the largest source of Power generation in the country. The problem of load shedding will be reduced to a great extent and a very large area of fields nationwide will be irrigated.
General Pervez Musharraf, in his regime declared to build the Dam for the welfare of Pakistan but could not do so practically. The successive government of PPP under the premiership of Raja Pervez Ashraf declined to act upon the plan and build the dam so it is since that time in the cold storage. But after the heavy floods of 2010 the then Prime minister, YousafRazaGilani had to admit that had the Kalabagh dam been built the scale of losses due to floods would be much lesser.

Why Kalabagh Dam is Important?

The answer to this simple question is that if the Kalabagh dam is not built on war footings there is a great possibility that Sindh and KP provinces will face drought in the coming years, there would be much shortage of water. With the construction of Kalabagh Dam there will come prosperity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as there will be a great quantity of water available to irrigate almost 8,00,000/ acres of cultivable land that is located in such a position that it is not feasible to irrigate through River Indus because it lies above 150 feet level. The barren land of almost 7 million acres area can be irrigated as Kalabagh dam can provide 6.5 million acre feet of water for the purpose. Moreover 3800 MW of electricity can be produced from the Dam which is enough to meet the deficit of electricity and thus problem of load shedding can be eliminated to a great extent.
Bhasha dam, another project is stated to be the alternative for kalabagh dam by some opponent quarters but according to technical experts it can never be an alternative for the Kalabagh dam because it has to be built in the hilly terrain and it is not feasible as compared to Kalabagh dam.

Why Kalabagh Dam is Opposed?

Sindh Province is the greatest opponent of the construction of Kalagbagh Dam, Many politicians of Sindh province are against the construction on political grounds and their objections are as follows:
1- They say that their share of Indus water will be decreased and major portion will go to Punjab and KP provinces.
2- There are chances of Sind's lands become saline and barren because Indus River keeps the sea water away from their lands.

3- They assert that there is not enough water for another big dam as already Mangla Dam and Tarbela Dam have caused to shrink the size of Indus and its capacity.

Begum Nusrat Bhutto was the wife of the 9th Premier of Pakistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. She served as the First Lady of Pakistan during the premiership of his husband from 1971 until Bhutto's ousting in 1977. She succeeded the chairmanship of his party Pakistan People’s Party and remained in office from 1979 to 1983. She was also the mother of Benazir Bhutto the first female prime minister of Pakistan. She died on 23rd of October, 2011 due to the complexity and worsening of Alzheimer's disease on 23 October 2011 in Dubai. Nusrat Bhutto was laid to rest next to the grave of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, her husband at GarhiKhudaBakhsh graveyard of Bhutto family on 25th October 2011.Nusrat Bhutto is known and remembered for her contribution to empowerment of women in Pakistan and for advocating for democracy in Pakistan, for which she is recognized as "Māder-e-Jamhooriat, which is a title conferred upon her by the parliament of Pakistan after her death.
Her original name was NusratIspahnie, as she was born in 1929 in Esfahan, and belonged to a rich Hariri Esfahani family in Esfahan. She was considered to be of Kurdish descent. However, the Kurdish lineage only comes from her grandmother who married into the Hariri family. Her father was a rich Iranian businessman who had migrated to Karachi, Pakistan before division of India into two. Before migrating to Pakistan, Begum Nusrat Bhutto got the degree of BA in Humanities from the University of Isfahan in 1950. Nusrat Bhutto met Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in Karachi where they entered into a wedlock on September 8, 1951. Begum Bhutto was Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's second wife, and out of that marriage they had four children: Benazir Bhutto, Murtaza Bhutto, Sanam Bhutto and Shahnawaz Bhutto. Benazir's husband and widower and Begum Nusrat's son-in-law Asif Ali Zardari is currently holding the office of President of Pakistan.
Begum Bhutto was suspected of having been affected by cancer in 1982, when she left Pakistan for medical treatment. For the last many years of her life, she also suffered from Alzheimer's disease. In the middle of 1990s, especially after the murder of her son Mir Murtaza Bhutto in 1996, she preferred to be isolated. Pakistan People’s Party sources have indicated that this may also have happened due to symptoms of Alzheimer’s.
Bhutto's disease was at so advance stage that she was unable to know about the assassination of her daughter, Benazir Bhutto. She was on ventilator until her death on October 23, 2011. Her body was shifted to her hometown GarhiKhudaBakhsh in Larkana District the following day, and she was laid to rest next to her husband's and children's graves in the Bhutto family mausoleum. Many thousands of followers and party workers were present there to witness the ceremony.

measles outbreak in pakistan 3 MEASLES OUTBREAK IN PAKISTAN!

Ten more children lost their lives due to an outbreak of measles in Punjab is news heard most frequently nowadays.
Pakistan is among the countries whose two-thirds of the population is of unimmunized children. Recent statistics reveal that more than 3000 cases of measles have been reported in past few months in Punjab causing many deaths. Deaths are not only reported in Punjab but also in Sindh and Baluchistan.
Measles is a viral disease including symptoms like fever, cough, rash, running nose etc. This disease can be prevented by vaccinating the children against this disease. The children are given vaccines by the age of 18 months and the other dose is recommended at the age of four or five years. It is a dangerous disease common among children. The transmission of measles virus to healthy children has increased manifold in last few months and is steadily increasing causing a fatal threat to their lives.
Fraught healthcare system, unsanitary conditions, neglect of routine immunization and lack of education and awareness regarding immunization programs are the causes that contributed to the outbreak of measles in Pakistan. The World Health Organization presented a report which clearly indicates that the root of measles outbreak is the failure to complete routine immunization coverage among provinces, districts and cities of Pakistan.
Hundreds of the children dying of the disease are an alarming situation that needs an immediate remedy. Government of Pakistan, donor agencies and civil society should take immediate steps to control the situation. High-quality vaccination campaigns should be started targeting uncovered areas and ensuring the availability of vaccines at vaccination centers. There is a desperate need to increase immunization coverage by increasing the number of vaccinators. Poor families did not vaccinate their children as they cannot afford it so federal and the provincial government should step forward and provide specific resources to scale up routine immunization.

chief justice with a distinction in the history of pakistan 1 Chief Justice with a distinction in the history of Pakistan.

Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is regarded as the revolutionary and impartial Chief Justice of Supreme Court in the history of Pakistan. He is the incumbent Chief Justice of Pakistan and falls on number 18. He was nominated for the slot by former President and Dictator General Pervez Musharraf on June 30, 2005.

He was born in December 12 1948 at Quetta, Pakistan. He graduated from Sindh University and began the practice as an advocate from the Sindh High Court in 1976, and promoted as a senior advocate at Supreme Court before taking a government law assignment in Quetta. In 1990, when he took the charge as an additional judge at the Baluchistan High Court, he got the nomination of Chief justice of Baluchistan High Court from the President RafiqTarar, in 1999. After assuming charge as Supreme Court Cheif Justice he worked hard for resolving the problems faced by senior judiciary and also started taking suomoto of many incidents going on in the country. In 2007 when he refused to take oath under PCO, he was suspended by the dictator Musharraf in 2007 which triggered a great unrest in the country. Lawyers from all over the country launched countrywide campaigns for the reinstatement of the Justice Chaudhry and with the combined efforts of lawyers, civil society and politicians like Nawaz Shareef, Imran Khan and others, finally on March 22, 2009, Justice Chaudhry was reinstated with many other senior judges.

His gave many remarkable rulings which includes the suomotu notice against controversial privatization of the Pakistan Steel Mills, and also took notice of the case of missing persons in Baluchistan, and also issued directives against the New Murree project regarding as environmental catastrophe, He also ruled against the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) and declared it as unconstitutional. Recently he gave verdict against the Prime minister YousafRazaGillani who refused to write a letter to Swiss government over President's secret assets in Swiss Banks, Justice Chaudhry discharged and ousted YousafRazaGillani and his government on 26 April, 2012.

Recently he had to face a tough time when his own son was caught in a case of illegitimate money laundering, this case is a tough challenge for him but he seems to be dealing with it professionally and without any bias.

Now the next elections will be held while Justice Chaudhry is on the seat and hopefully he will play his role even now to stop any irregularity in the conduct of General Elections

M. M. Alam or Muhammad Mahmood Alam is well known to Pakistan nation as a brilliant Pakistani fighter pilot. He served Pakistan Air Force as North American F-86 Sabre Flying ace and one-star general. Squadron Leader Muhammad Mahmud Alam, Commander of No 11 Squadron, was known already as a remarkable leader and highly expert pilot and he showed his capabilities in the war against India in 1965, in which he was awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat, which is a proud Pakistani military decoration, and he was awarded for his brave actions during the War of 1965. In earning his decorations,
M. M. Alam downed five Indian planes in just less than a minute — and the first four within only 30 seconds — which is a world record. He also excelled in gun competition, which is a skill that without a doubt contributed much to his becoming the first and the only jet ace in only one mission. During the war of 1965 he engaged the Indian Air Force and kept them at bay for a considerable time and inflicted heavy losses to them. Pakistan has produced some brave heart individuals who make all the nation proud. Among them is Pilot M. M Alam, without any doubt one of the greatest fighter pilots in the world. M. M. Alam shot down nine Indian planes with his F-86 Jet Plane in the 1965 India-Pakistan war. M. M. Alam retired as Air Commodore and shifted to his Karachi residence. M. M. Alam is deeply attached to Islam. M. M. Alam Road Gulberg Lahore is named after him. Now a days he is ill and whole nation is praying for his quick recovery and health. Our media is not playing his due role in highlighting his services and is not giving any sort of coverage. This is a shameless behavior of our media. It only points towards those issues where it hopes some viewership or some glamorous events or Bollywood dances. We pray for the health and wellness of this great asset of Pakistan.
